Layouts Deconstructed | Hope

Today I'm sharing Hope, a page I put together during a really trying time for me, all I could do was hang onto hope, so that was the inspiration behind this page. I wanted a painted blended look so I'll share with you the techniques I used to create this style of page.

I started out with a background of my choice and chose a second contrasting paper that I would blend into it. I wanted to add some further texture and interest to my initial background but still wanted to keep it light, I chose a bold paper but blended it into the light one with the 'Screen' Blending Mode at 100% opacity.

Next, to add further interest to the background I chose some stamps, their original colour was a charcoal grey/black, I blended them into my background with the 'Colour Burn' Blending Mode so that they reacted with the background layers. I used different opacities for each layer, the doily at 73% and the butterflies at a full 100%.

Next I added some Word Art with a 'Multiply' Blending Mode and some splatters 'as-is'.

Next I added the little arrow on the right and the flower cluster near the centre of the layout, these were softened and distressed using a technique i'll share with you soon.

I finished my layout off with some more dimensional elements and the date and I'm done :)
